Mustilli Piedirosso Sannio 2019

Just-ripe red blood plum, pomegranate, fresh red and maraschino cherry lead the fruit elements, an omnipresent twang of gunsmoke and dusty, scorched earth mineral hanging in the air. The palate underpins the dominance of these red fruits, though we see the addition of aromatic spices - clove, star anise, black cardamom - all carried with verve along a through line of mouthwatering acidity that is such a hallmark of Piedirosso.
