Domaine Ollier-Taillefer Les Collines Rouge

Grown in the the highest zone of Faugères in the Languedoc, on schist soil. For red wine, the schist geology translates into decidedly dark fruit profiles and inky, long, and very mineral--think slate--wines.  Rustic and very characteristic of the Languedoc region. Blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 20% Carignan.  Hand-picked and de-stemmed. Aged in tank.  Faugères, Languedoc, France
