So when \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDonald Byrd\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e and \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eArt Taylor\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e came through Paris on tour in 1958 they sought out Reece and even found their way into the recording studio together for what would become Reece’s Blue Note debut \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003eBlues In Trinity\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. Encouraged by \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAlfred Lion\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, Reece would move to New York City the next year where Lion quickly put him back in the studio with a first-rate hard bop band including \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHank Mobley\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e on tenor saxophone, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWynton Kell\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003ey on piano, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePaul Chambers\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e on bass, and Taylor once again on drums.
